Small Man in a Book by Rob Brydon

5.0

Ok, so this is the second autobiography where someone has gushed about their love for Jimmy Saville with no mention of what terrible things he did.

It’s always a bit mad when you read something about Saville in positive terms. So the question is. When was this written?

The publish date is 2011. We figured out what Saville was near the end of 2011. Ooooooh bad timing.

Otherwise what a great book. How lovely that we start with an idealised childhood. You never normally get that in an autobiography.

I love that he keeps going even when faced with rejection and being in the wrong career.

It’s so inspiring to see someone do so well in comedy who hasn’t gone the normal route of Oxbridge / Cambridge. If your good AND you have drive then it’s possible no matter where you come from.

Also Human Remains and Marion and Geoff will always be two of my favourite shows.
