It's very repetitive in what it's trying to say to the point it beats you over the head with it. It also treats the women characters as though they are not a part of the lesson the book teaches- just vessels for our main guy. That or it's trying to say a woman's "personal legend" is typically finding a man. I think it's more the former, but that lack of consideration is still poor writing and at times hurtful. One last thing, and I'd like to be corrected if I'm wrong, but I think Coehlo tries to pass off a common French and Portuguese saying as an Arab proverb? It's the saying about how you can't have 2 without 3. I speak Portuguese and know this saying (and with Coehlo being Brazilian I figure he's heard it plenty while growing up) so I tried looking up if maybe it came from Arab people, but nothing comes up relating to them. If my assumption is correct then I think Coehlo's lack of care into researching Arab culture for this could be offensive.
