Hockey romance books are so popular these days. I’m glad to say this is a slightly different take on a hockey romance. Emory is the bad boy goalie who has been transferred and is trying to redeem himself and not make his team the laughing stock of the league. Every time he tries to reform himself something happens to drag his name through the tabloids. One night after a game he is given a note to meet a woman who has her own blackmail scheme to try to extort money from him. But, Emory dares her to go through with and demands that she destroy the picture. The next day he is back in the tabloids Scottie feels guilty although she didn’t do anything. She goes to apologize and therefore sets of a series of events. Emory is intrigued by her and as he follows and watches her, he believes she can solve his image problems. So eventually Emory proposes a fake marriage Scottie to help transform his image unknowingly he chose the right woman because she desperately wants to be a professional photographer and taking pictures of them and posting them are giving her a great outlet and way to showcase her talent. Now there are lots of flaws with the story because why would you chose to marry someone to improve your image and not throughly check them out to make sure no skeletons will pop up. Nonetheless it’s a great story of girl tries to bribe a guy, marries him, and falls in love with him. Great characters, good plot, and nice spice.
