Uncle Vanya by Anton Chekhov
2.0
I wish I could have seen the play rather than read the script. After having read many narratives, the bare bones of a script did not convey the intensity obviously felt by the characters in this play. I am sure I have missed much of the depth of feeling and the circumstances which created this. The agony of the squandered lives just did not have the desired impact. Now I am curious to see the play and shall certainly make an effort to attend a production. But perhaps that would be what Chekhov wanted?
