Safely Home by Randy Alcorn

5.0

Safely Home is officially one of my favorite books of the year… and ever. I can very rarely say that a book was absolute perfection. I have no complaints. I’ll try to keep this as short as possible because I could rant about this one for days. It’s honestly the book of my dreams that I have hoped someone would someday write… little did I know, someone already had.

The book sucked me in (I couldn’t put it down!), opened up my eyes to persecution, made me think, made me laugh, made me cry, made me pray, and, ultimately, drew me closer to Christ.

The faith in this book was so strong and inspiring; every page was thought-provoking, Christ-centered, and filled with powerful Scripture. Very rarely do I cry when reading a book but this one brought me to tears multiple times. The author also did an absolutely amazing job of incorporating Chinese culture (I especially enjoyed the use of Chinese proverbs. I’m a sucker for a good proverb!). Though a very minor aspect, I also appreciated the light-hearted humor and the inside jokes between the characters throughout the book.

Okay, I’ll stop now… I enjoyed so much about Safely Home but I’m afraid we’d be here for hours if I went through it all so I will limit myself to these few paragraphs ;).

I truly believe that this book has forever changed my life and will influence me for many years to come. I beg you, please read it! I would give Safely Home 10 stars if I could.

God bless,
Kaya :)
