Hani and Ishu's Guide to Fake Dating by Adiba Jaigirdar
slow-paced
3.0
I really wish I enjoyed this more. Maybe being anxious the whole day because of the first day of school contributed to me not to like this as much, but nevertheless, it didn't really make me feel anything. Hani's friends took up most of the book and I just got so annoyed everytime they were there. When that conflict was resolved, I was just like, "fucking finally." The romance between Hani and Ishu wasn't really... romantic, I guess? I love fake dating trope so I had a certain expectation, the execution of the fake dating in here was... boring, to summarize it. There wasn't any thrill with the fake dating. And then the miscommunication trope got added, where Hani started avoiding Ishu because she was developing feelings , it just made it worse.
