Dear Ijeawele, or a Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen Suggestions by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

This book gave me life today. I read it in one sitting and all I think about is how much I love this author, this woman, for influencing me through her words. I will need to re-read this when I'm preparing to have children one day. And I want my husband to read it. I wish I could have my mother read it, but I worry she'd be offended by "Feminism Lite" because that is what she ascribes to. This short book sums up a lot of thoughts I know I already had but she is beautifully eloquent. Every feminist should read this book, but it is probably not for someone who is not a feminist. This is a reminder to feminists and feminism about the society we live in and the subtle ways we teach Children misogyny. I think it'd be a wonderful baby shower gift to a feminist.
