This was one of those books that I tried reading once and couldn't do it. The second time around - I was hooked. Sabriel is the epitome of the female heroine. Kind, good, and taking chances for others at the risk of her own life because she knows its the right thing to do. But, she also has weak spots, especially the secrets surrounding her own parentage. A true classic.
