Factfulness: Ten Reasons We're Wrong About the World – and Why Things Are Better Than You Think by Hans Rosling
informative
medium-paced
3.25
I decided to read this since it was recommended in a Reddit thread shortly after Trump was reelected. As a frequent doomscroller, I thought it would be helpful to read material that would combat the anxiety I usually find myself feeling when reading about what’s going on in the world.
It took me a while to get through the book - it was highly informational with vast amounts of data but also felt a bit repetitive with the core messages. The book has helped with my propensity to doomscroll and provided me with useful reframes to think more critically about the news I digest. Overall, I feel as though my worldview has been broadened and I have an inkling of hope for the future! 3.25/5 ☆
