Yeah, yeah, I know, I’m a bit late to the hype train, seeing that everyone was reading it a few months ago and now I’m just here like: 🧍🏼

But that’s not the point, the point is that I read it…finally. This isn’t my first time reading it however. I tried to read it a few months ago but I was so busy with my exams that my brain couldn’t handle taking in more information, so I  temporarily DNF-ed it. And now I’m here, giving a review.

But first, what is TIHYLTTW about? The book follows Red and Blue, two agents from the opposing side of the Time War. Their jobs are to go back in time and tweak some things so that their side can have an upper hand in the future. But, when the two start sending letters to each other, things become a bit complicated.

This is was such a fun read. Although I do have my problems with it, I can see why so many people fell in love with the story. Did I fall in love…no. But I did like it.

I found the story interesting, with very likeable characters who - by the end - you really root for. But for me, the strongest part of the book was the ending. It was so epic, like, I just loved it.

[a little side note: when I read, I love to picture how it would look like if it were adapted for a movie/tv show. And oh my gosh, the shots that I envisioned for some of the scenes makes me want to adapt it if I could!😩]

The problems I had with it was minor and ultimately comes down to person taste. The story I found to be kind of repetitive, with each chapter having the same format (but by the end when things start to ramp up I didn’t mind it as much). And the other problem is the writing style, which I found at points confusing, leaving me wondering ‘what just happened?’.

Overall, i would recommend it if you found it interesting, and also to people who watch the Loki series and liked it since the two agencies are like the TVA.
