Hour of the Olympics by Mary Pope Osborne

3.0

The siblings are off to ancient Greece to find their next and last story. It’s a democratic and modern society but women can’t go outside or watch the Olympic Games!

I’m not sure how I feel about this book because it’s similar to all the others and it’s getting a bit repetitive. However, this time the siblings aren’t running for their lives due to a situation caused by their natural environment but are running from a situation they created. I disliked how although it was courageous in some sense, it was also risky and dangerous so no lesson was relayed.

The book similar to others had interwoven facts throughout the story. Most facts were snippets of Jack reading from the research book but other than that many others were told by Plato. Honestly, I preferred the facts told by Plato since they were said in conversation so felt more natural and integrated than those Jack read from the book.

As this was the last of the four stories to find, it ends in a sort of cliffhanger. There’s no indication on when or what the next four tasks will be but I guess we’ll figure that out in the next book.
