Levar Burton’s reading is such a great way to listen to short stories, and I have been enjoying listening every few weeks to a new story; however, I do feel the challenge of staying engaged with a single story in audio format. There were a few scenes that stood out, describing the intense focus on the fish and the main character’s relationship with the fish (even obsession). Levar Burton emphasized the dynamics of a woman’s doing a man’s job, but I actually feel like I missed out on a lot of that.
The Dolphin House - obsessive relationship with fish, intense description of nature, oneness with ocean animals
This Impossible Brightness - waterfront town, quiet tone, slightly mystical, lighthouse significance
