Night of the Dragon by Julie Kagawa

5.0

This finale wraps up the series perfectly and is so much better than anything I could have imagined.

The final battle is almost here as the night of the summoning of the dragon approaches and everything is coming to the climax we have been building upto.
I loved how the relationships that have been developing slowly and gradually all finally come together and feelings are revealed. There was a lot of vulnerability and emotion in this book as the characters opened up to each other about their fears of losing the ones they loved and it all just broke my heart.

The battle was long and confusing and so much was revealed and there were twists and turns I adored as they made my brain go haywire.
As all the pieces of the puzzle are revealed and everything comes together, this book perfectly brings them together, allowing us some time to process while also moving forward and stitching it all together.

I loved all the characters, especially Yumeko and seeing her on the final leg of the journey, and all the others in her gang of misfits, was so heartwarming and scary. I love how she has grown and changed over the course of this series, and how so many things also remain the same.

The ending broke my heart, because of course, it did, there was a battle and people die and I cried so much and even a week later, I am not okay but it was still perfect and I loved it.
