The Hunter by L.J. Shen

4.0

"The prince is not going to save you, aingeal dian. He is stuck in his castle, fighting his own battle. Are you ready to step out of your comfort zone and live?"

Hi, hello, and welcome to my bumbling review of [b:The Hunter|46038707|The Hunter (Boston Belles, #1)|L.J. Shen|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1587740565l/46038707._SX50_.jpg|70941608]. I say bumbling because I am still fairly new to reviewing romance books, and I feel like so many people do it so much better than I am capable of, but... onwards. So far, I've read Shen's entire Sinners of Saint Series, along with her All Saints High series and [b:Sparrow|27263454|Sparrow|L.J. I feel like it's given me a decent taste of her writing style, but prior to this book I had really no experience with one of her lighter, more humorous novels. Hunter and Sailor are a glorious blend of sarcastic, witty banter and steamy STEAMY relations.

description

"With you, I'm outmatched, outwitted, and outrageously irritated."

Returning customers will be pleased to know that we get a Knight, Vaughn, and Vicious cameo right off the bat, and since this story features Troy and Sparrow's daughter, Sailor, we get a healthy dose of them plus Sam as well. New characters include Hunter's family, and I've already made my bets on which players will be featured in the remaining 3 books of the series. If we don't get a Cillian + Belle book I WILL RIOT. If you've read the synopsis, then you know what the premise of the book is, and you probably know where this enemies-to-lovers romance is headed, but I can promise you that there are some suspenseful twists and turns along the way. To be honest, I wasn't a diehard Hunter fan based on his appearances in the ASH series, but true to Queen Leigh's form she made me swoon hard for this playboy once she showed us his true colors.

No spoilers here, but if you've enjoyed Shen's books in the past, you NEED to get your hands on this one ASAP. If you're new to her books, I would suggest picking up a few books from her past series, although it's not necessary and this is a standalone story, but the backstory on certain characters would just make the interactions more meaningful. (AKA [b:Sparrow|27263454|Sparrow|L.J. Shen|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1454909563l/27263454._SY75_.jpg|47314876] would be extremely beneficial!) If you need me, I'll just be here sobbing until [b:The Villain|52322156|The Villain (Boston Belles, #2)|L.J.
