Split Second by David Baldacci

4.0

It’s been a while since I read a thriller and this definitely provided an exciting ride. As we already know, in life, a split second decision can change everything. We follow the story of two secret service agents, King and Maxwell, who have found themselves trying to bounce back from devastating career hits where they both lost presidential candidates (killed and kidnapped respectively) eight years apart, resulting from split second decisions they made. The pair connects and realizes that there is more in common with the two events than they may have realized and proceed to try to get to the bottom of it. There were quite a few characters to keep track of but Baldacci did a good job of showing how the character fits into the rest of the story so they were easier to remember. The book started off at a great pace with lots of action, but the ending left me a little bit disappointed as it felt a bit too forced and unrealistic. Still an exciting and fast paced read
