On an eerie island off the coast of Ireland, Jules and Will are getting married. The night before the bridal party arrives and that's when old rivalries and old secrets start to emerge. The day of the wedding is when more tension starts to rise between guests and by the end of the night, someone is dead. Who killed who? And who had enough motivation to actually kill someone?
This book had me guessing until the very end. Every chapter I was convinced it was a different person. There were so many secrets and lies that shocked me throughout the book, yet the very ending had me even more astonished.
There is a lot of build-up for this story and it definitely needs it. So if you are reader that gets discouraged by slow build-ups then this might deter you. However, I didn't feel that it dragged.
I really enjoyed this read and was going to read The Hunting Party next but I'm going to take a break in between Lucy Foley's two books because I feel that they might be too similar.
How do you guys feel about slow-burn novels? Do they turn you off? Or do you enjoy twisting and turning in your chairs??
Let me know what you thought of this book!
