A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini

5.0

Hosseini always writes so poetically, and provides such a raw emotional exploration of so many hard topics. I loved the way this was written, and I thought it explored the life of women really well. He also says how it was an exploration for what the women of Afghanistan may have faced for himself, and I think it comes across. I thought it was beautiful, uncomfortable and well written.

Though something felt a tad bit missing, I'm not sure exactly but maybe some of the plot points could have been explored more. A solid 4.5 star read, though I might change that along the line if it's another one of his books I can't stop thinking about, which is highly likely.
