The Girl You Left Behind by Jojo Moyes
5.0
There seems to be a bunch of mixed reviews on this book, but I actually REALLY liked it. I'm not quite sure why, but I was very much hooked from the start.
Sophie was such an interesting character, and Moyes wrote her part of the story so, so, beautifully. She created beautiful and devastating situations to her story, and the feelings of characters and Sophie herself were really well described. I loved how she added in flashbacks so the reader themselves could experience what Sophie was going through in a way. In some parts, I hated Sophie, and in some parts, Sophie made me smile, and in some parts, she made my heart break, and I think that's what made her such a wonderful character.
With Liv, I wasn't as sure going into her part because I wasn't really sure it would live up t0 the first part. Honestly, it wasn't that bad. Liv was really infuriating, but then, at the same time, you start to understand her perspective, and then I didn't really know what side I was on anymore. Liv was written really well, and you could understand the motive behind most of her character actions. She was relatable through her feelings, and she became more and more likable as the book went on (in my opinion).
I would totally read this again, and the ending is great. Probably one of my favorites now, and I would definitely recommend this.
