I couldn't even bring myself to read more than 150 pages of this book. Tenley was endlessly dependent, selfish, and immature throughout this novel, to the point that I got sick of her and couldn't read any further. The concept of this world is so fascinating, but I was incredibly disappointed in the execution of the plot and the description of this world. Furthermore, the writing was both extremely cheesy at times, and very preachy at others. It felt as though Ten was trying to give a sermon about her Troikan values half the time I was reading. Even worse, the way she received information through the grid was just a little too convenient and didn't feel natural. It broke up the plot and made the pacing fly all over the place. I usually try not to give books such low ratings, or DNF them, but this is one I absolutely could not finish. It was weighing me down, and I'm so glad I decided to stop reading it.
