I adore this book. I love the setting, the magic, the way the island is alive, and the idea that his music can save them all is so cool. I don’t totally understand why the two main characters are “rivals“ from childhood, like that part just didn’t totally click for me, but I do like how they have an existing relationship from when they were kids that they grow and develop as they work together as adults.
The secondary romance is better in my opinion, than I often like more developed adult relationships because they just tend to be more complex and realistic, this is no exception.
Overall, I love this so much. It’s gorgeous, different, cozy, and lovely.
