The History of Sound: Stories by Ben Shattuck
reflective

Such a solid collection of stories! I think I did this a slight disservice by reading North Woods right before it, they have very similar vibes and themes but I enjoyed North Woods a bit more. I loved the titular story and The Journal of Thomas Thurber, I also enjoyed how the stories connected. I found some a bit boring and therefore lost focus, but on the whole found the writing to be beautiful and loved the setting. The audio performances were phenomenal, if you’re an audiobook person I definitely think it’s the way to go!
