Survivance, Sovereignty, and Story: Teaching American Indian Rhetorics by

5.0

An absolute must read for those interested in incorporating American Indian rhetoric (in any form) into their courses. Many scholars, teachers, activists, and students believe that incorporating rhetoric (ie: literature, oral tradition, writings, first hand documents, songs and music, films, etc.) into courses will provide students with a better understanding of American Indian peoples and issues. But apart from saying this, many fail to further elaborate and give ideas of teaching-in-practice. These essays deal with explaining the need, but further develop the idea by providing examples of how instructors have gone about adding American Indian rhetoric into their courses.

HIGHLY recommend this.
