The First Mistake by Sandie Jones
5.0
Alice lost her first husband in an accident and is still in love with him despite being married to Nathan. Beth, her best friend, has a secret. Nathan, her second husband seems too good to be true. Has Alice's trust been misplaced?
Sandie Jones did it again with this fantastic domestic thriller! It was well written, with intriguing characters and a unique, suspense filled plot. I was drawn in deeper and deeper into the drama with every new chapter. The story flowed naturally and the concept was very original. I found myself with an internal conflict over Alice and Beth. Even the children had their own interesting side story going on.
Where Sandie Jones excelled was in the plot twists. As a reader I was taken in all different directions until I finally thought I had it all figured out. Her hints were brilliant but even more so because the plot unfolded in different directions. By the time, the whole truth of the story unfolded I was left with my mouth wide open and my mind blown. I got close to figuring out some key pieces of the mystery but I was not prepared for what finally transpired at the end. I experienced the same myriad of emotions that I did after reading her first novel The Other Woman. I can't wait to read more from this author.
Thanks to St. Martin's Press for the ARC and chance to provide an honest review.
