Everyone in This Room Will Someday Be Dead by Emily Austin
5.0
I really enjoyed the anxiety representation in this book. While I found not all the situations to be the most relatable to me, the “anxious” thought process is always relatable as it highlights the anxiety cycles I tend to fall into quite often myself. This book did such a good job showing what anxiety can feel like. I have read this a few times now and I still get that second hand anxiety feeling, just like I got from the very first read through. The thing that actually lead me to find this book was a TikTok about a Twitter thread. Since the author is Canadian, Gilda goes to the ER constantly which for our universal healthcare system isn’t as big of a deal; American readers couldn’t help but think of what her insurance would be and just how much it costs her, which is a very depressing thing to be pointing out but as a Canadian it did peak my interest because I probably wouldn’t have thought anything of it if I didn’t see the thread.
