This is the sequel to Sign of the Slayer and continues right where it left off. Raven/ Texas is on a mission for the Emerald Tablet. She must learn to work past her trauma, embrace her slayer role and new powers, while still working with Prince Khamari, the vampire, and his betrayal. The character development is full force, and the enemy to the lovers vibe is prominent throughout.

There is plenty of world building, nonstop action, and romance to keep you entertained. The African and Egyptian history, vampire/ slayer lore, description of the underworld, and world building help the reader delve deeper into this world.

The ending was left on another cliffhanger, and I can't wait to see where this story leads next!
