Someday Never Came by Autumn Lawrence-Barnette

“I’m not sure either one of you will survive the loss of the other again.”
I am conflicted when it comes to this one. I think it had loads of potential and honestly there were moments that I loved it because it just gave off this vibe and then others when it felt like two people were writing and they just weren't on the same level. It was hard to stay invested at some points to be honest. Selena is still hardcore in love with Jensen who just left her without a word when they were teens. She hasn't heard from him or even their mutual friend for 10 years, until one day he texts her because he thinks he is ready to have her in his life. However, we soon learn his friends are concerned because Jensen has a lot of unresolved issues... issues that he doesn't want to share with Serena.
I felt like the book moved at a slower pace for most of the story to be honest. We get them both just falling back into old patterns pretty quickly and it doesn't feel like they experience much growth, but instead are trapped at that point where the relationship ended. A lot of the book was easy to see coming, but the unconvential HEA was a nice twist to be honest. I wish honestly that the book had maintained the vibes from the prologue and like the last chapters the entire time because they were the most intense and emotional parts for me. The parts that really made you interested in the characters and the story. Overall, I just wanted a bit more I think.
