This was one of the most difficult and traumatising true stories I’ve taken in. Jeni and her system share brutal in depth stories of the severe abuse they have experienced in a manner I would not have assumed would be traditionally published. If this book appeals to you please know it is EXTREMELY graphic about the abuse that was experienced by Jeni and her system throughout their life. In saying that, the raw willingness to share their abuse and being the first Australian person with Multiple Personality Disorder (the now outdated clinical name that Jeni and her system prefer to use) / Dissociative Identity Disorder to win against their abuser is incredible. The input for clinical information by Dr George Blair-West is extremely helpful and done well in layman’s terms. In saying this - I don’t know of anyone I will recommend this book to as it stands for how graphic Jeni and her system kindly shared of their trauma.
Graphic: Adult/minor relationship, Animal cruelty, Body horror, Body shaming, Bullying, Child abuse, Chronic illness, Death, Domestic abuse, Emotional abuse, Gore, Incest, Mental illness, Miscarriage, Pedophilia, Physical abuse, Rape, Sexual assault, Sexual content, Sexual violence, Torture, Violence, Excrement, Vomit, Medical content, and Medical trauma
