even though this is a novella, i expected so much more. i thought the writing was a little elementary and there were a lot of run-on sentences throughout. there’s a certain style of writing that i don’t enjoy at all, and maybe the full book is better than this, but i really didn’t enjoy the style here. it felt very step by step and sometimes filler sentences are necessary, like let us know what the characters are thinking a little bit more. that being said, the spice was fine, but i expected more from it. really hope the book is better than this though.
