The Autobiography of Malcolm X by Alex Haley, Malcolm X

5.0

I don’t think I appreciated how little I knew about Malcolm X before reading this and it makes me want to read the beginning of the book again now that I understand more about his later life. This was DEEPLY FASCINATING. I really struggled with the misogyny in the early parts but now having finished it I think I could encounter that portion with a lot more ease. What a brilliant person. There are portions of this and of his speeches that I hope stay with me for the rest of my life.
