It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover
5.0
This book broke me in so many ways.
I don't even have the words to describe how I feel.
The fact that this is the story of colleen's mother makes it more painful. From the first incident I was very mad at ryle but after they got married and I heard his story and they decided they would make it work together I was so so happy and I genuinely thought this was it he wasn't going to do it again but sadly it happened and it was so much worse. I completely support Lily's decision about the divorce. At first I thought maybe he can go to a therapist and come back when he's ready but then I thought what if it had happened again in front of their daughter it's not something he can control. Now he can have a good relation with his daughter and lily would have the life she deserves. Domestic abuse is a problem we have and is widely common . And the harsh truth is that like mentioned in the book it's the victim who always gets the blame no one knows how the situation is so much more difficult for her everyone keeps saying why doesn't she just leave him and sadly I was one of those people this same phrase repeats over and over in my mind every time I see an incident similar to what lily went through. This book changed my way of viewing things in a huge way thank you colleen for always knowing the exact right thing to write.
