The Love That Split the World by Emily Henry
5.0
Emily Henry’s newest release Beach Read moved me in such a way that I thought the only cure for the book hangover was more Emily Henry. I promptly bought all her books, and this one being harder to purchase, immediately loaned from Libby. I was intrigued that all the others were YA, Beach Read itself having quite the adult steam level. I love YA and I’m always looking for more of it, and the synopsis of this one completely sold me.
I read this book in one sitting- a rarity for me. I was utterly compelled to see what happened next. There was just the right amount of mystery and towards the end I got chills. Not figuratively, but actually arms and legs covered in goosebumps.
This is a story of young love, the monumental feelings of the summer before college, multi-faceted motivations for actions, and TIME TRAVEL. Woven within the pages are beautiful renditions of Native American folklore. I thoroughly enjoyed this and Emily Henry has quickly become a new-to-me favorite author.
“Every moment you live, every darkness you face, they’ll all feel worth it when you’re staring light in the face. Okay?”
“The sky split open then. The stars fell like silver rain.”
