The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix

5.0

WOW THIS BOOK WAS INTENSE! Kicking off my fall spooky/thriller reads, The Final Girl Support Group was a great place to start! This is an entirely unique take on a story that's been told many many times before.

This kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time and I absolutely flew through this book! The writing was so well done that I often felt anxious and nervous as events unfolded. On top of that, there's this element that our narrator is not as reliable as she thinks she is. Lynnette is so paranoid that I often questioned whether the events taking place were reality. My one critique is that all the different final girls and their stories were often hard to keep track of. We never get a full picture on what happens to each of them, and I feel like that would have been an easy way to remember each character and their significance.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. If you need a new take on a classic thriller plot with a lot of gore, this is the book for you!
