I listened to this, and I did more chores than expected to keep listening. This cozy fantasy trilogy made me realize that I like cozy fantasy as much as I like high fantasy. I never really know where this story was going to go next, it’s so inventive and interesting. Emily continues to learn the language of people, the neurodivergent queen she is. Her fixation and love for all things fairy is nothing short of astounding as it is wonderful to witness. I love her growing relationship with Wendell, Ariadne & Poe. The way she interacts with the fairy kingdom reminds me of the way Percy Jackson deals with monsters— distraction & history to defeat the foe. I’m excited for the next one to come out and sad it will be over.
