The Hawthorne Legacy by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
4.25
Ohhh, good... not amazingly good like the first one of course... but good. I gave the first book 5 stars because it was the first time I read a book like this so I was extremely impressed, but now after reading this, I know the author's writing style. Honestly, it was blander than the first one but not as bad as I thought it would be. In this book, it focused on learning more about her family history and finding Toby, the puzzles and clues in this book are expected and not as shocking as the first one. I know a lot of these reviews talk badly about who she picked from the love triangle and...THEY'RE RIGHT. Oh, my days I was rooting for the other man (don't wanna spoil) so much... definitely not because I fan-casted my celebrity crush as him. No, but seriously, : Jameson feels like the type of person who made Avery like him by charming her, while Grayson was only trying to protect her and know her, their chemistry felt smoother, and his love for her felt more sincere than Jameson. Jameson keeps leaning in and they kiss, but when they pull away he makes comments about continuing the game and solving the riddle and it pissed me off because it feels like he keeps on being affectionate towards her when he is only thinking about the riddle. I hope on the third book she chooses my baby Gray Gray. Also... I love short chapters I don't know why.
