This was my favorite Goosebumps book as a kid; I didn't really remember much about it other than what happens on the last page, but it had a vibe that I really locked into back in the day.

I found this at a yard sale a few years ago for a buck and I said sure, why not? Finally got around to giving it another whirl and it's... okay! Obviously I'm not going to judge a children's book as I would an adult, but I thought the whole resolution of everything was a bit farfetched and too much to really believe. Outside of the last third or so, there's a good mystery and some funny bits, but man I really think it all falls apart.

Overall, a breezy read from my childhood! It's been about 20 years since I last read this, and I gotta say somehow I feel like I won't be reading this again at 48.
