I really enjoyed this! Kate Lister is both educating and entertaining, with her historical discussion spanning time, culture and regions. I learnt a lot and thoroughly enjoyed doing so- particular highlights include the story of testicle theft and the role of the bicycle in women's liberation.

My only criticism is as the author herself states, this book is not and cannot be comprehensive; I would have loved more chapters on the LGBTQ+ history and on some of the more modern history of sex and sex work, but overall a fantastic book, and I believe there's something in it for everyone.
