The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
5.0
Incredible!!
This book is beautiful, heart-warming, heart-wrenching, delightfully adventurous, deeply moving, and powerfully meaningful. A gorgeous, heartbreaking, uplifting story line infused with all the history and real, raw human emotion you could ever want from a book. There are powerful messages throughout about war and love, loss and healing, suffering, the power of relationships and memories, and trying to get back on one's feet and move on after being through hell and back.
The characters are stunning, multi-layered and complex, and so well-crafted and well-developed that they seem real. The writing matches the plot and characters perfectly. Hannah's style is elegant, lovely, smooth, and well-put, and never too convoluted or flowery. She encapsulates and conveys the emotions of her characters, emotions you never thought could be put into words, in well-crafted sentences that are hammer-blows to the heart and, overall, a delight to read.
