Scarlet by Marissa Meyer

4.5 stars
Really enjoyed this one!I found that it really picked up where Cinder fell a bit flat. It had more character development and world building.
I liked Scarlet better than Cinder, even though a lot of people feel the opposite. I like spunky characters because I find them more relatable and less whiny, and Scarlet was definitely spunky.
I really enjoyed going back and forth between Cinder and Scarlet. It didn't feel forced or choppy and that's usually why multiple POVs are a turn off for me. However, this is written in third person, and I found that I enjoy multiple POVs more if they're written in third person.
While I do like Scarlet a little more than Cinder, Cinder grew a lot as a character in this second book and I hope she continues to kick serious ass in Cress.
I knocked off .5 stars simply because I found the pacing a little weird sometimes. It would pick up and slow down and then sometimes go too fast. That's just me being a stickler though, and I've rounded the official star rating to 5.
You should definitely pick up this serious if you've yet to!
