The Many Deaths of Laila Starr by Ram V

emotional reflective

5.0

'Then at thirty-two minutes past ten, death arrived on this mortal plane in a broken body remade just for her.'

So beautiful in all the ways! Laila Starr (the god of Death) learns about mortality and what it means to live and it almost made me cry. I loved the color palette filled with gradients of pink, purple, and blue. The chapter from the perspective of a cigarette was...interesting? This comic does some different things and unfolds in a really great way!

'"Each heartbeat, every breath - is a rejection of death."'
