If you read this and think it's another throw away goofy superman comic then you are mistaken. I feel like what Alan Moore has done here is so subtly brilliant and such a love letter to the gold and silver age of superman. It feels so true to being a classic superman tale but reeks of moores reality and grimness but in a light hearted way befitting the man of steel. Superman is more who he is because of his ideals than of his powers. I wish more comic lovers understood this about their favorite characters.
