This is the second Katie Ruggle book and solidified for me that she will be an immediate-buy author.
Reading this series, you can tell that not a lot of focus is given in looking beneath the surface of the characters - especially the male leads. It is a bit disconcerting because you are left with many questions on the backstory, but the found family trope, badass leads and a thriller plot makes up for it. There were so many grip your arm chair moments, which were high intensity, high fear moments.
BUT SO GOOD NONETHELESS
