Thank you to Luke for the loan.
Dune is, I regret to report, exactly as good as everyone says. The worldbuilding, moral grayness, and mix of science and politics with mysticism and religion is absolutely stunning.
The loss of a quarter-star is only because I found myself wishing, as I read on, that the book had been split fully into its three constituent parts. In books two and three especially, I found myself unaware of some occurence and feeling that some plotlines had rushed to conclusions without full development. Those are issues to explore in a reread, though, and there absolutely will be one.
Incredible - reccomend!
- This is my first fiction review so I don't have a rhythm yet. Felt cute but might add to it later lol-
