Private Justice by Terri Blackstock

5.0

This book introduced me to the Newpointe community, which centers around a firehouse and the men who work there. The book introduces you to Mark & Allie, married for 4 years and currently separated. Allie feels like Mark cheated on her with a floozy named Issie, even though they never did anything more than talk. Mark has seemed to lose his faith & began drinking because of this.

At the beginning of the book, a fireman's wife dies. She was shot in the head and then her house was set on fire. The next day, the same thing happened to another fireman's wife, causing a panic among the fireman and Mark to fear for Allie's life.

The book follows the mystery of solving the crime and Mark and Allie's relationship changing & strengthening through this difficult time, as he tries to keep her safe.

This is my second time reading the book, my first time being in high school. Terri Blackstock writes in an exciting, fast-paced way that keeps you begging for more. It's hard to put down, and includes some religious themes that I think help pull everything together.
