My heart! My heart is so full after reading this book! Miles and Trent's story started with one of the absolute worst dates I've ever read in a book! The awkwardness was only partly what made it so bad; the worst thing about that date was watching poor Miles step into such an uncomfortable situation with a Trent who didn't understand what it meant for him to do that yet. It broke my heart seeing Miles crash and burn on that date, but every moment after, once Trent understood what a mistake he'd made, was pure magic. These men destroyed me. In the best way. I adored Bubba, too, which is a great feat, because I'm not usually a fan of kids in books. But he was so charming and such a wise little dude, I loved him so much. He added so much to the story. This one made me cry, too, and I'm not surprised or mad about it 😂 The way these two learned from each other and healed old wounds the best they could was beautiful to watch. The vulnerability they both had, especially Miles...it was such an emotional read. But it was perfect. This book just really felt perfect in every way, and I loved it.
