Not bad.
Wasn't expecting much but it exceeded those expectations. I enjoyed it as a mystery with the overarching mystery of why the one guy was so disliked.
I would read the next one to see if the editing improves. Also, it was a little zero to sixty with the romance so maybe seeing them together again would help feel like their relationship makes more sense.
The misplaced commas did bother me, and little typo-like things like not closing the quotation marks, which happened a couple times. But not bad enough to prevent me from reading.
