What Have You Done? by Shari Lapena
4.0
Another quick, entertaining, fast-paced read by Shari Lapena! (3.5 stars from me, rounded up to 4)
Was I expecting anything ground-breaking from this book? No. Did I read it in a day because I just had to know what happened? Yes. Lapena was one of the fist authors to get me back into reading as an adult. Her stories are quick, chapters are short, and characters are unreliable as all hell, making the story fun to get through.
This book incorporated some ghostly elements that I wasn't expecting, but enjoyed overall. I will say I'm happy I read this and didn't pick up the audiobook, even with the different narrators it would have been difficult for me to differentiate between the characters. With that, there were so many characters! Some overall irrelevant to the story (Sadie Kelly, I'm lookin at you girl).
This might have been the first book where I figured out the twist before it happened in the book - I can't say it was glaringly obvious, but that didn't take away from the story. I do think the ending was a bit rushed, but most of my questions were answered in the end.
Takeaways - men are disgusting on so many levels and boys are just as bad.
