Lots of sexy times, a bit of hockey, some "hot and cold" angst and a superrrr grump-golden retriever dynamic that was cute at times, but a head-scratcher more often than not. I think it's because for like 85% of the book's length, there was this undercurrent of weighty trauma that Mad kept close to his...well everything. And while i dig sexy tension, especially when it comes to MM hockey baes, i think this just took too long to reveal the emotional past that contributed to the way Mad and Kay got on. This was a soft and sweet college romance with quite a bit of steam, and ofc a cute HEA at the end of a challenging journey, especially for Maddox, that i was very happy about because they deserved it and i love love <3
