What If It's Us was everything I had hoped it would be. I've read books by both Becky and Adam in the past and really enjoyed them, so I knew going into this that it was going it be good.

I liked both Ben and Arthur a lot and I thought it was fun to see characters from such different lives. Arthur is a small town boy from Georgia who's in NYC for just the summer, while Ben is a NYC native who is doing his best to get over his ex-boyfriend while having to attend summer school with him.

I LOVE how much you can tell which author wrote which part.

I really appreciate all the representation. Arthur is Jewish and Ben is Puerto Rican. There's also an asexual character, which was really nice to see.

The story was extremely cute and is a perfect summer read. All the musical references were perfect, as I'm a huge musical theater nerd. I super loved the scene where Arthur is reading Ben's novel and Ben is listening to Hamilton for the first time.

Ben's best friend Dylan is the best friend that all queer people need. I know I wish I had had a Dylan when I was growing up. He was also funny as hell.

I especially loved the ending, because it doesn't end in a super predictable way. It felt like an incredibly real ending, but gave us enough closure to be satisfying.

I would recommend this to anyone who loves cute contemporary YA books with a summer vibe.
