"this is not a game to me, i would rather die by your hand than have you believe me a traitor. i would rather take a fast bullet than have us pitted on different sides of an agonizing battle."

"you accused me of being a philanderer, and suddenly i wanted to prove you wrong. you wanted daffodils at your wedding, and suddenly i wanted to be the one beside you at the altar watching you hold them. i wanted it to be real. i wanted it all to be real."

"how good of an actor do you think i am? i've never told anyone before that i loved them. not like that. only you."

i LOVE THIS BOOK!!!! omg i have been waiting to read this for so long and i loved every second of it. to be honest, i was holding it to a really really high standard because i love these violent delights and our violent ends SO MUCH they're some of my favourite books ever, and even though foul lady fortune was really good, it didn't live up to the previous duology which is why i gave it 4 stars instead of 5. firstly, TVD and OVE were easy for me to understand in terms of the plot and all, but the plot in this book was quite confusing to me. secondly, in TVD AND OVE, i loved the side characters so much and they felt like such an important part of the story, i genuinely had such an emotional attachment to all of them and i was invested in every part of the plot, but with this book, tbh i didn't care or feel a connection to the other side characters like silas, pheobe, celia, or oliver. they were just kind of there? i really only cared about orion and rosalind.

ANYWAYS that's okay because i absolutely LOVED orion and rosalind's dynamic throughout the whole book, they are literally the definition of "okokok" gf and "lalala" bf lmao. they are so cute together and orion is literally such a classic book bf like chloe gong is just so good at writing the most splendid characters i love him so much. but WTF was that ending i need to read more RIGHT NOW. i should have known miss gong would leave me with a huge cliffhanger😭😭😭. so yeah in conclusion i really enjoyed reading this but i don't think it was as good as the TVD duology.
