Game Changer by Margaret Peterson Haddix

5.0

An athlete finds herself in a parallel universe, where her prowess is mere classwork, and the mathletes and spelling champions are touted and get the kudos. Her little mathlete brother is now the family scion, and she finds her skills, what she was good at, what she worked her whole life at, is regulated to a spot in her parent's china cabinet--a tiny trophy for a grade-school sports event.

Not usually a fan of Haddix, but this was an interesting read, because I could see this and apply it to those around me. It actually had the effect of making me appreciate sports people more.
